"SASHIKO" One of Japanese Traditional Embroidery Technique

New colors have been added to the sashiko thread "Bokashi(Shaded)". "Bokashi(Shaded)" is a sashiko thread with a white gradient that allows you to enjoy the transition of colors with just one skein. The colors that change from dark to light and from light to white look great on navy fabric, a classic color for sashiko. Even with the same pattern, "Bokashi" creates a different atmosphere each time you stitch, so you can enjoy the different finishes for each person.
 
Five new colors inspired by plants that evoke the beautiful and lovely seasons of Japan.
The new colors, inspired by the colors of flowers familiar to Japanese people, are bright gradient threads that catch your eye. They go great with dark colored fabrics such as navy, and create vivid works that look like flowers blooming on a tree. Why not try sashiko while thinking about seasonal flowers?

Shaded 54 Tsubaki (Camellia)

The color is a Tsubaki (Camellia) covered in winter snow.
Tsubaki have long been loved as a symbol of protection from evil and longevity. They are beautiful flowers that are used in a variety of Japanese cultures, including Japanese gardens, flower arrangement, tea ceremony, waka poetry, and crafts.

Recommended uses

Red and white are auspicious colors, so they are perfect for embroidering Japanese patterns that contain various wishes.

Shaded 55 Tampopo (dandelion)

The cute color of Tampopo (dandelion) petals and fluff.
Tampopo is a symbol of spring in Japan, and can be seen on riverbanks and roadsides while taking a walk. The round yellow flowers remind us of the warm sunlight of spring.

Recommended uses

The warm yellow color that evokes spring goes well with the brown of the earth and the blue of the sky.

Shaded 56 Fuki no Tou (Butterbur buds)

The color of soft new Fuki no Tou (Butterbur buds) that have just emerged from the ground after the snow has melted.
Fuki no Tou are a beloved mountain delicacy. Their cute buds, which emerge when there is still snow remaining, signal the end of winter.

Recommended uses

When used with Nowaki, it creates a soft finish that resembles the mountains as the snow melts.

Shaded 57 Aozora (Blue sky)

A refreshingly bright Aozora (Blue sky) and the color of the flowing clouds.
The four seasons in Japan bring about changes in the color of the sky. Try choosing a pattern that matches the weather, which changes with the seasons.

Recommended uses

Create cumulonimbus clouds with Seigaiha waves, and cirrocumulus clouds by stitching in a finer design.
You can express a sky with a variety of floating clouds.

Shaded 58 Tsutsuji (Azalea)

The color of Tsutsuji (Azalea) flowers blooming in parks and gardens
Tsutsuji were popular as garden trees during the Edo period, and even today they can be seen all over the city in parks and as roadside trees.

Recommended uses

It goes well with yellow-green colors, creating a gorgeous finish that makes it look like Tsutsuji is in bloom.
